Recent Announcements

QBWC 1.5 available
Hello All, The 1.5 version of QBWC was released a while back: http://developer.intuit.com/Technical_Resources/?id=484 Mostly I just wanted to overwrite the announcement that there is a new QBXMLRP2Installer available. That was new a month ago :-). While I have your attention, we've got RDS (Remote Data Services) in an Alpha Release. It's looking really good. If you are interested please send me (IDNTodd) a private message with your contact information. -TAB

New QBXMLRP2Installer.exe
We've discovered that the QBXMLRP2 installer provided with the QuickBooks SDK 6.0R3 release is not the latest version. The latest version (version 6.0.3.00201) is available on the QuickBooks SDK Download page ( http://developer.intuit.com/MyIDN/?id=91 ). [The QuickBooks SDK 6.0R3 release does contain the latest version of all other installers and merge modules (including the QBXMLRP2 merge module).] If you downloaded QBSDK 6.0 between 1/30/07 and 2/15/07 you may have downloaded QBSDK 6.0 R3 (as intended) or you may have downloaded QBSDK 6.0 R1. (Downloads can come from one of two servers and only one was updated initially; now QBSDK 6.0 R3 is on both.) If you've installed the QBSDK 6.0 that you downloaded, check the release notes and make sure that they're titled "Release Notes, QuickBooks SDK 6.0 R3". We apologize if this caused you any inconvenience.

QBSDK 6.0 R3 available
The QBSDK 6.0 R3 release is now available. You should be able to install this over R1 or R2 without issue. Please visit http://developer.intuit.com/QuickBooksSDK/Downloads/Default.asp -TAB

QBSDK 6.0 R2 available
As indicated in the "QBXMLRP2 problem and quick fix" updated announcement, the new QBSDK is now available. Please uninstall the previous QBSDK 6.0 release first. Since InstallShield stamps sub-installers with it's own version, it will think they are unchanged (since we built R2 with the same InstallShield as R1) and it won't update those sub-installers. If you uninstall first you won't run into problems with installers that didn't get updated. -TAB

QBXMLRP2 problem and quick-fix
We have identified a problem in the original QBSDK 6.0 release which causes applications to have problems with Quickbooks 2006 or earlier. We've just posted QuickBooks SDK 6.0 R2 which includes merge modules and installers that should address these problems (and should also work correctly on Vista). You can download QBSDK 6.0R2 from http://developer.intuit.com/MyIDN/?id=91. The updated release notes (which list the changes in 6.0 R2 on page 1) can be found at http://developer.intuit.com/qbSDK-current/doc/PDF/ReleaseNotes.pdf. As noted in the release notes, you may distribute the merge modules and installers included in the QBSDK 6.0R2 release but please do not distribute those from the original QBSDK 6.0 [R1] release. Problems caused earlier by using the original QBSDK 6.0 [R1] release can be fixed by running the new QBXMLRP2Installer.exe from QBSDK 6.0R2.

New support site launched!
Thanks for your patience. The new support site is now launched! If you haveany problems logging in please submit a Feedback request athttp://developer.intuit.com/support/feedback We will no longer be responding to product questions submitted through thefeedback page. It is for incidents related to Login, Billing, Web Site, etc. Your technical support options are fully delineated at http://developer.intuit.com/support/technical/ These changes are being made to ensure we answer the most critical questionsin the timeliest manner. At the same time, we're trying to ensure we get information out in as efficient a manner as practical. Forums allow peer-to-peer interaction which can get you faster answers than one-to-one support incidents. Additionally, you can learn from the questions and answers others have asked to (effectively) get instantaneous response! This leaves the direct support model for those cases where the investigation is more involved and you'd rather use one of your paid incidents to get to the answer. We very much appreciate all of you who are working to make the forums intoan excellent community experience!

Forum reorganized!
The forum reorg is mostly done (a couple fixes still to do :-) As of yet no forums have been folded together, that is still to be done. Thank you -TAB

Searching
A couple of people have asked about the search capability on the forums here, confused that they did not get the results they expected. Please note that if you just fill in the search box at the top of the forum you are looking at you'll be doing a search of all message titles in the current forum. If you want to do a full text search, including the full text of each message, click the "advanced search" link and fill in the form appropriately, making sure you select "title and body" for the parts to search. Yours, Peter+

Where did all the posts go?
If you are not seeing as many posts as you are used to from the old forums, please click the "profile" button above, select the "personal options" tab and change the "Days back to view topics for" to a large number -- 999 should show ALL posts. Peter+
